The short version
- Rhodes Things To Do is a free directory — we take no payments and no commission.
- Booking requests go directly to the business; any deal you make is between you and them.
- Business listings are free — the one condition is a link back to us from your website.
- You own the content you post; you give us permission to display it on the site.
- Keep reviews honest and listings accurate — we remove content that breaks the rules.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of rhodesthingstodo.com (the "Site"), a travel directory for the island of Rhodes, Greece, operated by Rhodes Things To Do ("we", "us"), operated from Greece. You can reach us at info@rhodesthingstodo.com or +30 690 791 7676.
By using the Site — browsing, creating an account, listing a business, sending a booking request or writing a review — you agree to these Terms. How we handle personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. The service
The Site is a free directory of places, activities and businesses in Rhodes. We display business listings, let visitors discover them by category, area, search and map, and let visitors send booking requests and write reviews. We process no payments, hold no funds and charge no commission.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure — you are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your account yourself at any time (Dashboard → My Profile → Danger zone). Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, listings, bookings, bookmarks and reviews.
4. Business listings and the backlink condition
Listing a business is free. In return we ask for one thing: a visible link from the business's website back to rhodesthingstodo.com (a text link or our "Featured on Rhodes Things To Do" badge — a copy-paste snippet is provided in your dashboard). We may check for this link automatically, and we may unpublish listings whose backlink is removed until it is restored.
By submitting a listing you confirm that:
- you are authorised to represent the business;
- the information you provide (name, description, address, contact details, photos, prices) is accurate and kept up to date;
- you hold the rights to all photos and text you upload.
We may review, edit for formatting, decline or remove any listing, and we don't guarantee placement, ranking or inclusion.
5. Booking requests — we are an intermediary
The Site transmits booking requests from visitors to businesses. A request is not a confirmed reservation: the business decides whether to accept it and contacts you directly. Any resulting agreement is made directly between you and the business. We are not a party to it, we do not process payment for it, and we are not responsible for the availability, quality, safety, pricing or delivery of any product or service listed. Complaints about a booking or service should be addressed to the business; we will nevertheless gladly hear about bad experiences at info@rhodesthingstodo.com — they inform whether a business stays listed.
6. Reviews
- Reviews must reflect a genuine personal experience with the listed business.
- Do not review your own business, a competitor's business, or post in exchange for payment or incentives.
- No defamatory, obscene or unlawful content, and no personal data of third parties.
Businesses who believe a review breaches these rules can report it to info@rhodesthingstodo.com; see section 9 for how we handle reports.
7. Your content — ownership and licence
You keep ownership of everything you post (listings, photos, reviews, profile details). By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and promote that content in connection with operating and promoting the Site (for example showing your listing in search results, category pages, maps and social media previews). The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies in backups kept for a limited period.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- post false, misleading, unlawful, infringing or harmful content;
- impersonate any person or business, or list a business without authority;
- scrape, harvest or bulk-download Site content or user data without our written permission;
- interfere with the Site's operation, attempt to bypass security, or probe for vulnerabilities;
- use the Site to send spam or unsolicited marketing.
9. Moderation, reports and enforcement
We may remove or restrict content, unpublish listings, and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or applicable law. Anyone can report content to info@rhodesthingstodo.com — include a link to the content and the reason. We review reports promptly, and where we remove or restrict content we inform the affected user of the reason, unless the law requires otherwise. If you disagree with a moderation decision, reply to our notice and we will take a second look.
10. Our content
The Site's design, branding, editorial guides and databases are ours or our licensors' and are protected by intellectual property law. You may link to any page of the Site, and businesses may use the "Featured on Rhodes Things To Do" badge to link back to us. Any other reproduction of Site content requires our permission.
11. Accuracy and third-party links
Listing details (opening hours, prices, menus, availability) are provided by businesses or compiled editorially and can change without notice — verify important details with the business before travelling. The Site links to external websites (business websites, maps, social profiles) that we do not control and are not responsible for.
12. Liability
The Site is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits or data, or for the acts and omissions of listed businesses. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or your statutory consumer rights.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Site or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts and remove content for breach of these Terms, unlawful activity, or extended inactivity of unpublished drafts, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice. Sections 7, 10, 11 and 12 survive termination.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and we will highlight material changes on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Greek law, and disputes belong to the courts of Rhodes, Greece — except that if you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules and the courts of your country of residence. Most issues are resolved fastest by simply emailing us first: info@rhodesthingstodo.com.
